PetSmart employees use three main portals: HR Connect for HR and payroll, ADP for pay stubs and W-2s, and the Benefits Portal through Alight for insurance and 401(k). Your login steps and what you see inside each portal depend on your role. Store associates, groomers, pet trainers, and PetsHotel staff all have different daily needs, and the portals reflect that.
Store Associates: Your Portal Priorities
Sales floor, stocking, and register associates will use HR Connect at hrconnect.petsmart.com most often. This is where scheduling, HR requests, and basic payroll information live. Your login is a User ID plus password, both provided during onboarding.
For pay stubs and tax documents, you’ll use ADP at my.adp.com. Here’s the step-by-step for getting set up:
- Go to my.adp.com
- Click “Register Now” if this is your first time
- Enter the PetSmart registration code: petm-pets
- Follow the identity verification steps (you’ll need personal details that match your employee record)
- Create your username and password
- Once registered, go to Pay > Pay Statements for stubs, or Pay > Tax Statements for your W-2
Your ADP registration code is petm-pets (all lowercase, hyphen in the middle). This is the same for every PetSmart employee regardless of location or role. Write it down, because you’ll only need it once during registration, but if something goes wrong you’ll need it again.
Your PetSmart employee discount (15% off most products, 50% off select proprietary brands like Authority and Simply Nourish) isn’t managed through any portal. It’s tied to your employee ID at the register. The free monthly services (dog wash, teeth cleaning, nail grinding) are handled at the salon level, not online.
Groomers and Salon Staff: What’s Different for You
Groomers and salon employees use the same three portals as everyone else, but your scheduling may work differently. Salon appointments are managed through PetSmart’s grooming scheduling system, which is separate from the general store schedule in HR Connect.
If you’re a groomer checking your appointments, that’s through the in-store salon booking system, not HR Connect. HR Connect still handles your PTO requests, personal information, and HR cases. Pay stubs and W-2s are on ADP, same as store associates.
One thing groomers should know: if you’re a commission-based groomer, your pay stubs on ADP will look different from hourly associates. Commission, tips, and any hourly base pay are broken out separately. If your commission calculation looks wrong on a stub, raise it with your salon leader first, then escalate to HR Shared Services at 1-866-263-8411 or hrsharedservices@petsmart.com.
Pet Trainers: Same Portals, Different Scheduling
Pet trainers have class schedules that run on a different rhythm than regular store shifts. Your training class calendar may be managed through a combination of the in-store training booking system and HR Connect.
For everything else (pay, W-2s, benefits, PTO), the process is identical to store associates. ADP with code petm-pets for pay documents. HR Connect for HR requests. The Benefits Portal through Alight for insurance and 401(k).
If you run the free 6-week puppy/beginner training class (one of PetSmart’s unique employee perks), that’s scheduled through the store’s training program, not through a portal.
PetsHotel Staff: Overnight and Holiday Considerations
PetsHotel employees often work overnight shifts and holidays, which means portal access timing matters more for you than for daytime staff. Schedules are posted through HR Connect, but if your hotel operates on a different scheduling cycle than the main store, your schedule may appear at different times.
PTO tracking for PetsHotel staff follows the same PetSmart PTO policy as other roles: 80 hours (2 weeks) for years 0-4, increasing to 120 hours at year 5 and 160 hours at year 10. The 16 discretionary hours are separate. Vacation and discretionary hours follow a use-it-or-lose-it policy, while sick time (4 hours per month) rolls over up to a maximum of 120 hours.

The Benefits Portal: A Third Login
Benefits enrollment and management happen on a separate portal powered by Alight. You can reach it at worklife.alight.com/petsmart or digital.alight.com/petsmart. There’s also a general information hub at benefits.petsmart.com, though that’s more of a reference site than a self-service portal.
The Alight portal has its own login credentials, separate from HR Connect and ADP. During open enrollment or when you have a qualifying life event, this is where you elect or change your health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions.
PetSmart’s 401(k) matches 50 cents per dollar up to 6% of your pay, with vesting at 20% per year. If you want to check your current contribution rate or vesting status, that’s in the Alight benefits portal.
PerkSpot: Your Fourth Login
PetSmart also offers PerkSpot, a third-party discount platform for deals on cell phones, travel, entertainment, and other non-PetSmart products. PerkSpot has its own separate registration and login. Links may appear within HR Connect, but PerkSpot is an independent site.
Between HR Connect, ADP, the Alight benefits portal, and PerkSpot, PetSmart employees manage four different logins. None of them share credentials. If you change your password on one, the others are unaffected.
Mobile Access
HR Connect works through your phone’s browser at hrconnect.petsmart.com, though it wasn’t built as a mobile-first experience. ADP has its own dedicated mobile app (search “ADP Mobile Solutions” in your app store), which is actually the most convenient way to check pay stubs from your phone. The ADP app uses the same credentials you set up on the web.
The Alight benefits portal also has mobile browser access, but most employees only visit it during open enrollment or when making a benefits change.
There is no single PetSmart employee app that combines scheduling, pay, and benefits the way Walmart’s Me@Walmart or Target’s MyTime does. You’re working across three to four separate systems regardless of whether you’re on a computer or phone.
The Ally Program: Non-Medical Enrollees
One PetSmart benefit worth knowing about that connects to your portal access: the Ally Program provides behavioral health support for employees who aren’t enrolled in PetSmart’s medical plan. If you’re part-time or declined medical coverage, you can still access mental health resources through this program. Details are available through the Alight benefits portal or by asking HR Shared Services.
Password Resets and Lockouts
Each portal has its own reset process:
HR Connect: Use the “Forgot Password” option on the login page at hrconnect.petsmart.com. You’ll need your User ID and verification details. If the self-service reset fails, contact HR Shared Services at 1-866-263-8411 or email hrsharedservices@petsmart.com.
ADP: Go to my.adp.com and click “Forgot Your User ID/Password.” You’ll verify your identity through security questions or personal information. If you need to re-register entirely, use code petm-pets again.
Alight Benefits Portal: The password reset is on the Alight login page. For persistent issues, call Alight’s PetSmart support line (the number is listed on benefits.petsmart.com).
Former Employee Access
When you leave PetSmart, HR Connect access is terminated. ADP access may persist for a period, which is important for W-2 retrieval.
To get your PetSmart W-2 after leaving, try logging into ADP at my.adp.com first. If your account is still active, go to Pay > Tax Statements. W-2s are available by January 31.
If ADP access is gone, call HR Shared Services at 1-866-263-8411 or email hrsharedservices@petsmart.com. Have your employee ID, Social Security number, and employment dates ready.
A paper W-2 is mailed to your last address on file by January 31. If it went to the wrong address, contact HR to request a reissue. As a last resort, request a Wage and Income Transcript from the IRS.
