Walgreens Employee Logins

Published:

Walgreens is in the middle of a corporate overhaul, and the employee portal situation reflects it. Since Sycamore Partners completed its $10 billion acquisition in August 2025, cost cuts have hit nearly every part of the employee experience, including 1,200+ store closures, the elimination of 6 paid holidays, and hundreds of layoffs. If you’re trying to log in and things look different than they used to, that’s why.

Here’s what still works, what’s changed, and what to do if you’re locked out.

People Central: Your Main Portal

Access through: WBA Worldwide (wbaworldwide.wba.com) Powered by: SAP SuccessFactors

People Central is the self-service HR portal for all Walgreens (WBA) employees. Pay stubs, W-2s, benefits enrollment, personal information updates, and tax withholdings are here. It’s the closest thing Walgreens has to a central employee hub.

To reach People Central, go to wbaworldwide.wba.com and log in with your OneID and password. OneID is the credential Walgreens assigns during onboarding. It’s your key to every Walgreens system.

Once inside People Central, you’ll find sections for payroll (view pay stubs, access W-2s, update direct deposit), benefits (enrollment, plan summaries, COBRA info), and personal information (address, emergency contacts, tax withholdings). Navigation is fairly standard if you’ve used SAP SuccessFactors at another employer, though the interface can feel dated compared to newer platforms like Workday.

Your schedule also shows up through People Central, though some stores still post printed schedules in the break room. If your digital schedule doesn’t match the posted one, ask your store manager which is the official version.

Warning: If you’ve been laid off or your store has closed, your OneID may already be deactivated. Walgreens has not publicly documented how long portal access remains active after separation. If you can’t log in, skip to the former employee section below.

WConnect App

Available on: iOS and Android

WConnect is the employee mobile app. It links to People Central and provides quick access to schedules, pay information, and company communications from your phone.

Login uses the same OneID and password. The app is functional but bare-bones compared to what companies like Target or Walmart offer through their apps. Think of it as a shortcut to People Central rather than a full-featured tool.

Note: Some employees have reported the WConnect app crashing or failing to load after recent backend changes. If the app isn’t working, go directly to wbaworldwide.wba.com in a mobile browser instead.

StoreNet: Legacy In-Store System

StoreNet is the in-store operational portal. It handles pharmacy workflows, store communications, and operational tools. Like Home Depot’s MyApron, StoreNet is only accessible from store computers on the Walgreens network.

If you’re trying to complete training, access pharmacy protocols, or view store-specific memos, you’ll use StoreNet during your shift. You cannot access it from home.

With stores closing at a rapid pace (500+ already gone, roughly 350 more expected in 2026), some employees have reported losing StoreNet access before their transfer to a new location is finalized. If this happens to you, contact your district manager or call Walgreens HR at 1-800-825-5467 to clarify your status.

What’s Changed Under Sycamore Partners

The private equity acquisition has created real uncertainty around employee portals and benefits. Here’s what employees should know:

Warning: Walgreens eliminated 6 paid holidays in November 2025 (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day). This change is visible in People Central under your benefits summary. If your holiday pay looks wrong on a recent pay stub, check that your People Central profile reflects the updated policy. CVS, by comparison, still offers 7 paid holidays.

The company is also being split into 5 standalone businesses, which may mean further portal changes down the road. Right now, People Central through WBA Worldwide is still the primary system for all divisions.

Layoffs in February 2026 hit 628+ positions (469 in Illinois, 159 in Texas). If you were affected, your OneID was likely deactivated shortly after your last day. See below for how to access your records.

Former Employee Access

This is where Walgreens falls behind most retailers. There is no dedicated alumni portal, and People Central access gets cut off after separation.

For W-2s: Contact Walgreens HR at askhr@walgreens.com or call 1-800-825-5467. Be prepared for long wait times. Have your Employee ID, Social Security number, and approximate employment dates ready. Paper W-2s are mailed by January 31 to the last address on file.

For pay stubs: Same process. There’s no self-service option for former employees.

For benefits questions and COBRA: Call the same HR line. Under the new ownership, benefits details have been changing frequently, so get specifics in writing if possible.

For employment verification: Former employees sometimes need proof of employment for a new job, a landlord, or a loan application. Walgreens uses standard employment verification channels. Ask your new employer or lender to contact Walgreens HR shared services directly. If they need a specific verification code or phone number, call 1-800-825-5467 and ask for employment verification instructions.

Warning: If you were laid off during the Feb 2026 cuts, your W-2 for the current tax year will be mailed to your address on file. Update your address with HR immediately if you’ve moved. Don’t wait until tax season.

Password Resets and Lockouts

Forgot your OneID? Check your badge, any previous pay stub, or the onboarding paperwork from your first day. If you can’t find it, your store manager can look it up.

Forgot your password? Use the password reset function on the WBA Worldwide login page. You’ll need your OneID and answers to the security questions you set during enrollment.

Account locked after too many attempts? Wait 30 minutes and try again, or call your store manager to request an unlock. For persistent issues, contact Walgreens IT through HR at 1-800-825-5467.

Store closed and you haven’t been transferred yet? This is increasingly common. Call your district manager first. If you can’t reach them, call the main HR line and explain your situation. Your OneID should remain active until your transfer is processed or your employment formally ends.

What to Expect Going Forward

Walgreens is being restructured into 5 standalone businesses under Sycamore Partners. No timeline has been announced for portal changes, but employees at companies that have gone through similar PE-driven breakups have typically seen system migrations within 12 to 24 months. If People Central gets replaced by something new, Walgreens should notify you through store communications and email. Save your current OneID and any login documentation in the meantime.

About 25% of remaining Walgreens stores are reportedly unprofitable, so additional closures beyond the 350 already planned for 2026 are possible. If your store is on the closure list, make sure to download or print your recent pay stubs and check your PTO policies balance before access is revoked.
