Walmart Employee Logins

Published:

If you’ve been locked out of OneWalmart because 2-Step Verification won’t cooperate, you’re dealing with the single most complained-about login issue at Walmart. Thousands of current and former associates hit this wall every week, and the fix depends entirely on your employment status. Here’s how to get past it and into every Walmart portal you actually need.

Are You a Current or Former Employee?

Your path through Walmart’s login system splits right here. Current associates and former associates use different portals, different credentials, and run into different problems. Pick your situation below and skip straight to what applies.

Current associate? Jump to OneWalmart & the GTA Portal below.

Former associate? Jump to Walmart Alumni Portal & MyTaxForm further down.

OneWalmart: Your Main Hub

URL: one.walmart.com What it does: Schedules, pay stubs, benefits enrollment, W-2 access, company news, and policy documents. This is Walmart’s central employee portal, and nearly everything else links out from here.

To log in, you need:

  1. Your WIN (Walmart Identification Number) — printed on your badge and pay stubs
  2. Your password (set during onboarding or at a store computer)
  3. 2-Step Verification (2SV) — required for any off-network login (meaning from your phone or home computer)

That third item is where most people get stuck. Walmart requires 2SV for every login that happens outside a store’s internal network. The catch? You have to set up 2SV for the first time while physically at a Walmart location, connected to the store network. There is no way around this requirement.

If you never set up 2SV before leaving the store for the day (or before your employment ended), you cannot log in from home. Period.

Fixing a 2SV Lockout (Current Associates)

Go to any Walmart store and use a BYOD-connected device or a store computer. Navigate to one.walmart.com, sign in with your WIN and password, and follow the 2SV enrollment prompts. You’ll register a phone number or authenticator app. Once that’s done, you can log in from anywhere.

If your password is also expired or forgotten, visit the password reset page on a store device first, then set up 2SV.

Can’t get to a store? Call the Walmart Help Desk at 1-800-421-1362. They can sometimes assist with credential issues remotely, but expect long hold times, especially during pay weeks and tax season.

Me@Walmart App

Available on: iOS and Android What it does: Mobile access to schedules, pay information, and absence reporting. It’s not a replacement for OneWalmart — think of it as a stripped-down companion that handles the stuff you check most often.

The app uses the same WIN + password + 2SV credentials as OneWalmart. So if you can’t log in to one, you can’t log in to the other.

One thing worth knowing: the Me@Walmart app occasionally logs you out after updates. If that happens, just re-enter your WIN and password. Your 2SV settings carry over, so you won’t need to re-enroll.

GTA Portal (Global Time & Attendance)

What it does: Time clock functions, attendance tracking, PTO requests, and viewing your Walmart PTO balances.

The GTA Portal is accessed through OneWalmart, not as a separate login. Navigate to OneWalmart > My Time > GTA Portal. If you can get into OneWalmart, you can get into GTA.

The attendance points system is the reason this portal matters so much. Walmart tracks attendance on a points scale — 5 points within a rolling 6-month window leads to termination. Checking your current points total, submitting PTO requests (especially Protected PTO), and verifying punched hours all happen here. If you think a punch was missed, don’t wait. Open the GTA Portal the same day and flag it with your manager.

Walmart Alumni Portal (For Former Employees)

URL: public.walmart.com What it does: W-2 access, final pay stubs, COBRA enrollment info, and employment verification for former associates.

This is where things get rough. If you left Walmart without ever setting up 2-Step Verification, the Alumni Portal won’t let you in — and there’s no store network to fall back on because you no longer work there.

Your options if locked out as a former employee:

For W-2s specifically, skip the Alumni Portal entirely. Go to MyTaxForm.com and use employer code 10108. You’ll need your WIN, Social Security number, and date of birth to verify your identity. This is the fastest route for anyone who just needs their Walmart W-2.

For pay stubs or COBRA info, call Walmart Payroll at 1-800-925-6278 (that’s 1-800-WALMART). Explain that you’re a former associate and can’t access the Alumni Portal. They can mail documents or walk you through alternative verification.

For employment verification, Walmart uses The Work Number (theworknumber.com). Walmart’s employer code is 10108. Landlords, lenders, and new employers often use this service directly, so you may not need to do anything yourself.

Update Your Mailing Address Before You Leave

Walmart mails paper W-2s by January 31 to the last address they have on file. If you’ve moved since leaving, your W-2 is going to your old address. Call 1-800-WALMART to update it, or use MyTaxForm.com to access your W-2 electronically regardless of what address is on file.

Common Login Problems and What to Do

“My password expired.” Walmart passwords expire periodically. Reset at a store computer or through the OneWalmart password recovery page. You’ll need your WIN and the answers to your security questions.

“I forgot my WIN.” Check old pay stubs, your badge, or the Me@Walmart app if you’re still logged in somewhere. Otherwise, call your store or the Help Desk at 1-800-421-1362.

“The app keeps crashing after an update.” Delete and reinstall the Me@Walmart app. Your data is tied to your WIN, not the app installation, so nothing is lost.

“I need help with my employee discount but can’t access OneWalmart.” Your discount card is physical — it doesn’t require portal access to use in stores. For questions about your discount status, call the Help Desk or ask your People Lead in person.
