CVS Health HR Contact

CVS Health has changed its employee portal name three times in recent years. First it was MyHR, then Colleague Zone, now much of the backend runs through Workday. Nearly half of all CVS employee HR complaints tie back to not knowing which system is current or which login still works. This walkthrough clears that up.

The HR number you actually need

1-866-528-7272 is CVS Health’s main HR support line. It covers payroll questions, benefits enrollment, COBRA, leave of absence, scheduling issues, and general employment support. Have your 7-digit Employee ID ready before calling.

This number works for both current colleagues and former employees. Former employees often face longer hold times and may need to verify identity through their Social Security number and date of birth if their employee ID is no longer in the system.

Walking through Colleague Zone (current employees)

Colleague Zone is the current primary HR portal for CVS Health employees. It replaced MyHR and connects to Workday on the backend. If someone tells you to go to MyHR, they are using an outdated name for the same general system.

To reach Colleague Zone, use the Enterprise Login at CVS Health’s internal site. Retail and MinuteClinic employees use their 7-digit Employee ID and network password. The portal breaks down into a few key areas:

Pay and taxes. Your pay stubs, direct deposit settings, and tax documents including your CVS W-2 live under the Pay section in Workday. During tax season, W-2s are typically available electronically in January.

Benefits. Open enrollment, plan changes, and coverage details are managed through Colleague Zone’s benefits section. CVS offers health insurance, a 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%, and 7 paid holidays for full-time employees. If you need details on what your CVS benefits package includes, start there.

Personal information. Address changes, emergency contacts, and phone number updates all happen in Workday through Colleague Zone. Keeping your address current is especially important for W-2 delivery and benefits correspondence.

Scheduling. Retail schedules are accessible through Colleague Zone, though some stores still use legacy tools. If your schedule is not showing up in the portal, check with your store manager first.

Former employees: the Alumni Zone

This is where CVS trips people up more than almost any other retailer. After your last day, your Colleague Zone access gets deactivated. CVS then redirects former employees to the CVS Alumni Zone, which is accessed through the old myhr.cvs.com URL.

The system is supposed to send two automated emails to your personal email address within 24 to 48 hours of your separation: one with your username and one with a temporary password. The problem is that these emails do not always arrive. They end up in spam folders, go to an outdated email address, or simply never get sent.

If you did not receive your Alumni Zone credentials, work through this:

  • [ ] Check your spam and junk folders for emails from CVS or Workday
  • [ ] Try the myhr.cvs.com URL directly and use the “Forgot Password” function
  • [ ] Call 1-866-528-7272 and ask for Alumni Zone access support
  • [ ] Have your 7-digit Employee ID, Social Security number, and date of birth ready for verification
  • [ ] If nothing works, request a paper W-2 be mailed to your current address

The Alumni Zone provides access to your W-2s, final pay stubs, and benefits information. Questions about what happens to your CVS benefits after leaving can be partially answered through the portal, but calling 1-866-528-7272 and asking for benefits support is usually more productive.

Sorting out the portal confusion

The naming history matters because old guides, Reddit posts, and even some internal documents still reference “MyHR” or give instructions that no longer match the current system.

MyHR (myhr.cvs.com): No longer used by current employees. This URL now redirects to the Alumni Zone for former employees only.

Colleague Zone: The current portal name for active CVS colleagues. It replaced MyHR.

Workday: The backend HR and payroll system that powers Colleague Zone. Some features, especially pay and tax documents, are accessed directly through Workday’s interface even though you reach it via Colleague Zone.

When a current employee hears “go to MyHR,” that means Colleague Zone. When a former employee hears “go to Colleague Zone,” that means the Alumni Zone at myhr.cvs.com. The naming overlap causes real problems, and knowing this distinction saves you time.

PTO balances during the portal transition

When CVS migrated from MyHR to the Colleague Zone and Workday system, some employees reported that their PTO balances did not transfer correctly. If your current CVS PTO balance looks wrong compared to what you expected, take these steps:

  • [ ] Screenshot your current balance in Colleague Zone/Workday
  • [ ] Compare it against any pay stubs from before the migration that show accrued PTO
  • [ ] If there is a discrepancy, call 1-866-528-7272 with both numbers
  • [ ] Ask the rep to check your historical accrual records in the legacy system
  • [ ] Follow up in writing through a Workday case to document the correction

CVS HR has acknowledged that some balances were affected during the transition. Getting a correction is possible, but you need specific numbers rather than a general complaint.

Store closures and HR support

CVS closed 271 stores in 2025 as part of a wave that has shuttered over 900 locations since 2021. Around 9,000 stores remain. If your store is on the closure list, your manager should communicate the timeline and any transfer options.

Employees affected by closures can call 1-866-528-7272 for separation details, final paycheck timing, and COBRA enrollment information. Filing for unemployment promptly makes sense, since store closures count as involuntary separation in most states. The final paycheck guide for CVS covers state-specific rules on when you should receive your last check.

Before you call CVS HR: a checklist

Calling without preparation means longer calls and more transfers. Run through this before dialing:

  • [ ] Know your 7-digit Employee ID (on your badge, pay stub, or old onboarding paperwork)
  • [ ] Have your store number if applicable
  • [ ] Pull up the relevant pay stub, benefits document, or portal screenshot
  • [ ] Write down your specific question so you can state it clearly when prompted
  • [ ] Note the date and time of your call and the rep’s name for your records
  • [ ] If you are a former employee, have your SSN and date of birth ready for verification

Mid-week mornings (Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern) tend to have the shortest wait times. Avoid calling on Mondays, paydays, and the first two weeks of January.
