When 1-800-421-1362 is the right call

The Walmart Help Desk at 1-800-421-1362 is where most associate questions get routed. This line handles password resets, schedule questions, direct deposit issues, and general HR topics. Wait times tend to spike around the first and fifteenth of each month, when payroll questions pile up, so calling mid-week in the early morning cuts your hold time considerably.

If you are calling about something time-sensitive like a missed paycheck or an incorrect deduction, have your Walmart Identification Number (WIN) ready before you dial. The rep will ask for it immediately, and not having it means extra verification steps that slow everything down.

One thing to keep in mind: this number is for current associates. Former employees usually get transferred or told to try a different channel, which we cover further down.

Payroll-specific issues: 1-800-WALMART

For anything directly tied to your paycheck, the 1-800-925-6278 (1-800-WALMART) line connects you with payroll support. This includes late direct deposits, incorrect tax withholdings, missing pay stubs, and questions about your Walmart W-2 form.

This line also handles questions about the attendance points system. If you’ve received points you believe were applied incorrectly, payroll support can pull your time records from the GTA Portal (Global Time & Attendance) and walk through what happened. That said, disputing points usually requires your manager’s involvement, so payroll will likely loop them in.

Direct deposit changes can be made through OneWalmart without calling, but if your bank rejected a deposit or you are seeing a delay after switching accounts, calling this number is faster than waiting for the portal to update.

How to navigate OneWalmart for HR needs

OneWalmart at one.walmart.com is the central hub where Walmart consolidates schedules, pay information, benefits enrollment, and HR self-service tools. Your login credentials are your WIN plus your password, and you will need to complete 2-Step Verification (2SV) if you are accessing it from outside a Walmart location.

Here is where most HR-related tasks live inside OneWalmart:

Pay and taxes sit under My Money. From there you can view pay stubs, update your W-4 withholdings, manage direct deposit, and pull your W-2 during tax season. Benefits enrollment and changes are under My Health, where you can also find plan documents and pharmacy information.

Schedule-related issues, including requesting time off through the Walmart PTO system, are handled through the GTA Portal, which you can reach from OneWalmart or through the Me@Walmart app. Both PTO and Protected PTO (PPTO) requests go through GTA.

If you need to update personal information like your address, phone number, or emergency contacts, that is also within OneWalmart under your associate profile. Updating your mailing address here is especially important if you expect to receive a paper W-2.

The 2SV lockout problem (and how to fix it)

This is the single biggest HR access issue Walmart associates report. 2-Step Verification must be set up while you are physically at a Walmart location, connected to the store network. If you leave the company without setting it up first, you are effectively locked out of OneWalmart from home.

For current associates who have not set up 2SV yet, do it now. Go to any in-store computer, log into OneWalmart, and follow the 2SV enrollment prompts. It takes about five minutes and will save you a world of frustration later.

Former associates who are locked out have a few options. You can call the Help Desk at 1-800-421-1362 and explain the situation. They may be able to assist with limited account access. For W-2 access specifically, skip OneWalmart entirely and go to MyTaxForm.com with employer code 10108, where you will need your WIN, Social Security number, and date of birth.

The Walmart Alumni Portal at public.walmart.com is another route for former associates. It provides access to W-2s, final pay stubs, and COBRA insurance information without requiring 2SV.

Former employee HR contacts

Leaving Walmart does not mean you will never need HR again. Tax documents, employment verification, benefits questions, and COBRA enrollment all require contact with Walmart after separation.

W-2s are the most common reason former associates reach out. MyTaxForm.com with code 10108 is the primary channel. Paper copies get mailed to your last address on file by January 31. If your address was outdated when you left, try calling 1-800-WALMART to update it, though results vary. The IRS Wage and Income Transcript works as a backup, and Form 4852 (Substitute for Form W-2) is a last resort when filing taxes.

Employment verification goes through a third-party service. Most lenders, landlords, and background check companies can pull your information automatically using Walmart’s employer code.

Questions about benefits after leaving Walmart should go to the benefits line at 1-800-421-1362. COBRA continuation coverage requires enrollment within 60 days of your separation date, so do not sit on this one.

The Me@Walmart app: mobile HR access

The Me@Walmart app for iOS and Android puts a lot of HR self-service into your pocket. You can view your schedule, check your pay stubs, report an absence, and access your digital discount card from the app.

Where the app falls short is in handling more complex HR tasks. Benefits enrollment, W-2 access, and formal HR requests still require the full OneWalmart portal. Think of the app as your day-to-day tool and OneWalmart as the place for anything that involves paperwork or policy.

One useful feature: the app lets you report an absence directly, which is the correct way to protect yourself from receiving attendance points. Calling in through the app or the associate information line counts as proper notification, while just not showing up without reporting it results in the maximum 2-point penalty for a no-call/no-show.

The ethics hotline

Walmart’s Global Ethics Hotline at 1-800-963-8442 handles reports of harassment, discrimination, safety violations, wage theft, and other policy violations. Reports can be made anonymously, and Walmart’s stated policy is that retaliation against anyone who files an ethics report is itself a fireable offense.

You can also submit ethics concerns online through OneWalmart or the Me@Walmart app. Some associates prefer the phone line because it creates a verbal record and allows for immediate follow-up questions from the intake specialist.

If your concern involves your direct manager, the ethics hotline is typically a better route than going through local store HR, since it connects you with a team outside your facility’s chain of command.

Tips for getting through faster

Call volume to Walmart HR lines follows predictable patterns. The busiest times are Monday mornings, paydays, and the first week of January (W-2 season). If possible, call Tuesday through Thursday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eastern time.

When you call, have these ready: your WIN, your store number, your date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. Reps verify your identity before discussing anything on your account, and fumbling through this step means extra time on the phone.

If you are dealing with an issue that involves multiple departments (for example, a payroll error that also affects your benefits deductions), ask the first rep to transfer you directly rather than hanging up and calling a different number. Internal transfers usually skip the hold queue.
