Korger’s Final Paycheck Laws
Published:
If you’ve already left Kroger and your final paycheck hasn’t shown up, you’re dealing with one of the more frustrating situations in retail HR. Kroger’s multi-portal system, union contracts that vary by local, and a 90-day password expiration policy can all make a simple paycheck into a headache. Here’s how to cut through it.
The #1 Problem: Which Portal Even Has Your Pay Info?
Kroger runs at least four employee-facing systems, and none of them talk to each other the way you’d expect. Your final pay information lives in MyInfo (myinfo.kroger.com), which handles paystubs and tax forms. But you access MyInfo through SecureWEB (sso.kroger.com), and your login uses an EUID (Enterprise User ID) that follows the format ls00000.
If your password expired: Kroger passwords expire every 90 days. If you left Kroger and your password lapsed before you could check your final stub, you’re locked out. Contact your former store manager or division HR to reset it. Alternatively, call 1-800-952-8889 and ask for payroll assistance.
Former employees have limited or no portal access in many divisions. If you can’t log in at all, don’t waste time trying every URL. Skip straight to the phone number.
State Rules That Apply to Kroger
Kroger operates in 38 states under multiple banners (Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Harris Teeter, and others). Your final paycheck deadline depends on your state, not which banner you worked for.
States With Faster Deadlines for Fired Employees
If Kroger terminated you (not a voluntary quit), these states require faster payment:
California: Same day. This applies to Ralphs and any California Kroger-banner locations. No delay is permitted.
Colorado: Immediately upon termination. King Soopers employees in Colorado fall under this rule.
Massachusetts: Same day as termination.
Montana: Immediately, or within 4 hours if you make a written demand.
Union members, read this: If you’re covered by a UFCW (United Food and Commercial Workers) collective bargaining agreement, your CBA may include specific final paycheck provisions that are more favorable than state law. Check your contract or call your local. The union agreement can require faster payment or guarantee PTO payout even in states that don’t mandate it.
If You Quit Kroger
In most states, Kroger must pay you by the next regular payday. Kroger pays weekly in some divisions and biweekly in others, so the wait varies. In California, if you gave 72+ hours’ notice, final pay is due on your last day. Without notice, Kroger has 72 hours.
Does Kroger Pay Out Your Vacation?
This is where Kroger gets complicated because of the union factor. PTO and vacation policies vary by state, union local, division, and job classification.
What most Kroger employees experience: Full-time associates with 1+ year of service generally have accrued vacation paid out in states that require it (California, Colorado, Illinois, Montana, etc.). In states without payout mandates, your CBA is what matters. Some locals guarantee vacation payout; others don’t.
Part-time associates accrue vacation based on hours worked, and the same payout rules apply. If you’re unsure what your local’s contract says, call the UFCW local listed on your union card or your last pay stub. You can also review Kroger PTO policies for more detail on accrual rates.
Getting a Late or Missing Kroger Final Paycheck
If you’re past the legal deadline and haven’t been paid:
Call Kroger HR at 1-800-952-8889. This is the central HR line. Ask for the payroll department and have your EUID, store number, and last working date ready.
Contact your store or division directly. In Kroger’s decentralized structure, your store manager or division HR office sometimes resolves things faster than the national line. Ask your former coworker for the office number if you don’t have it.
File a state wage claim. If Kroger doesn’t resolve it after direct contact, your state’s Department of Labor handles wage complaints. In California (through the DLSE), late final paychecks carry waiting time penalties of one day’s wages per day late, up to 30 days. Other states have their own penalty structures. Our final paycheck laws by state resource covers these.
Keep records of everything. Save screenshots of your portal pay stubs, note the dates and names of anyone you speak with at Kroger HR, and keep copies of any emails. If you end up filing a wage claim, documentation is what separates a fast resolution from a drawn-out process.
Can Kroger Deduct from Your Final Check?
Federal law and most state laws prohibit employers from deducting the cost of uniforms, register shortages, or damaged merchandise from final paychecks without specific written consent. Kroger’s union contracts typically provide additional protections against unauthorized deductions.
If your final check is smaller than expected, compare it to your previous paystubs. Look for any line items that weren’t there before. Unauthorized deductions are a valid basis for a wage complaint in every state.
The Jun 2025 Clock-In Policy and Final Pay
Kroger’s June 2025 policy change (preventing employees from fixing timecard errors unless clocked in) has created problems for associates whose final shift had clock issues. If your last shift wasn’t recorded properly because of this policy, raise it with your manager before separation if possible. After separation, call HR and explain the discrepancy. You’re owed pay for every hour worked, regardless of what the timekeeping system shows.
