Walgreens HR Contact

With 1,200 stores closing, paid holidays eliminated, and hundreds of layoffs hitting in early 2026, knowing exactly how to reach Walgreens HR has never been more urgent. Whether you are dealing with a store closure, a benefits change you did not expect, or you just need your W-2 from a job you no longer have, the right contact information saves you days of runaround.

This troubleshooting guide covers every situation.

Start here: what kind of help do you need?

Are you a current employee?

  • Pay or scheduling issue >> Go to People Central (see below) or call 1-800-825-5467
  • Benefits question >> Call 1-800-825-5467, select benefits
  • Store is closing >> See the “Store closures” section below
  • Ethics or safety complaint >> See “Reporting workplace issues”

Are you a former employee?

  • Need your W-2 >> Call 1-800-825-5467 (portal access is usually deactivated)
  • Need COBRA or benefits info >> Call 1-800-825-5467, ask for benefits
  • Need employment verification >> Third-party verification service (ask HR for details)

Were you recently laid off?

  • Feb 2026 layoffs (IL and TX) >> See “Layoff-specific contacts” below
  • Need severance or separation info >> Call 1-800-825-5467

That decision tree covers the majority of cases, but the details matter. Read on for the specifics.

The main HR number: 1-800-825-5467

This is your primary phone contact for almost everything. The line handles payroll questions, benefits enrollment and changes, leave of absence requests, COBRA continuation, employment verification, and general HR support. It serves all Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) employees.

You can also email askhr@walgreens.com for non-urgent issues. Email creates a written record of your inquiry, which is especially useful if you are dealing with a dispute or following up on something that was not resolved on a previous call. That said, response times on email have slowed in recent months as the company manages restructuring across multiple divisions.

When calling, have your OneID credentials and employee ID number ready. If you are a former employee whose OneID has been deactivated, the rep will verify your identity using your Social Security number and date of birth.

People Central: the main employee portal

People Central runs through WBA Worldwide at wbaworldwide.wba.com and uses SAP SuccessFactors on the backend. This is where you access pay stubs, tax documents including your Walgreens W-2, benefits enrollment, personal information updates, and HR self-service tools. Login uses your OneID.

The WConnect app provides mobile access to People Central features. If you need to check your schedule, view a pay stub, or look up a benefits document while you are not at a store computer, WConnect is the way to do it.

StoreNet is a separate, older system used for in-store operations. It is not your HR portal, so if you are looking for pay or benefits information and you ended up in StoreNet, switch to People Central.

For former employees, People Central access is typically deactivated shortly after your last day. This is a common pain point, especially during tax season when people need their W-2 and discover they can no longer log in. If this happens, call 1-800-825-5467 and request a paper copy.

What is happening with store closures

Walgreens announced the closure of approximately 1,200 stores over three years, with over 500 completed and roughly 350 more expected in 2026. If your store is on the closure list, here is what to know:

Your store management should inform you of the closure timeline and whether transfer opportunities exist at nearby locations. Not all employees are offered transfers, and the availability depends on openings at remaining stores.

If you are not offered a transfer, your separation is handled similarly to a layoff. Contact 1-800-825-5467 for information about your final paycheck timeline, any severance you may be entitled to, COBRA enrollment, and your benefits after leaving Walgreens.

File for unemployment promptly. Store closures generally qualify as involuntary separation, which means you should be eligible. Our guide on how to file unemployment after being fired covers the general process, though your state’s specific rules will apply.

Layoff-specific contacts (Feb 2026)

Walgreens carried out 628 or more layoffs in February 2026, concentrated in Illinois (469 positions) and Texas (159 positions). If you were part of this round, your separation packet should include specific HR contacts for your situation.

If you did not receive a packet, or if the contacts listed in your packet are not responding, call the main HR line at 1-800-825-5467 and explain that you were part of the February 2026 reduction. Ask specifically about separation pay, benefits continuation, and the timeline for receiving your final paycheck. State laws vary on how quickly your employer must provide that final check, and our Walgreens final paycheck guide covers what to expect.

The paid holidays change

In November 2025, Walgreens eliminated six paid holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. If you have questions about how this affects your pay going forward, call 1-800-825-5467 or check People Central for your updated compensation structure.

By comparison, competitor CVS Health still offers seven paid holidays for full-time employees. This is one of several benefit reductions that followed the Sycamore Partners acquisition in August 2025. If you are evaluating whether your overall Walgreens benefits package still makes sense for you, that comparison matters.

Reporting workplace issues

Ethics violations, harassment, discrimination, and safety concerns go through a reporting mechanism separate from the general HR line. Ask for the ethics reporting channel when you call 1-800-825-5467, or check People Central for the current compliance reporting link.

Reports can be made anonymously in most cases. If your concern involves your direct supervisor or store manager, using the dedicated ethics channel routes your case outside your store’s management chain. Retaliation against employees who file ethics reports is against company policy.

Tips for getting through

Walgreens HR has been under significant strain during the ownership transition and restructuring. Wait times on the phone are longer than usual, and email responses are slower. Here are a few things that help:

Call mid-week, mid-morning if possible. Mondays and Fridays see the highest volume. Have your employee ID, OneID, and any relevant documents (pay stubs, termination letters) in front of you before dialing. If you are calling about an issue related to the Sycamore Partners transition, say that upfront so the rep can route you correctly.

For former employees who cannot access People Central, asking HR to email specific documents to your personal email address sometimes works, though it depends on the representative and the type of document.

Walgreens employee hub has additional resources on login portals, PTO policies, and other topics that may be affected by the ongoing changes.
