Your Lowe’s W2 is available online through MyLowesLife if you’re a current employee, or through Equifax’s mytaxform.com using employer code 11116 if you’re a former employee. Both methods work year-round, not just during tax season. Here’s exactly what to do and when.

W2 access checklist for current Lowe’s employees

You’ll get your W2 through MyLowesLife, the portal Lowe’s has operated since 2009. Your login credential is your Sales Number, which doubles as your employee ID across Lowe’s systems.

  1. Go to myloweslife.com and sign in with your Sales Number and password.
  2. Navigate to My Wealth in the main menu.
  3. Select Payroll Services.
  4. Click W-2 Services.
  5. Choose the tax year you need.
  6. View, download, or print your W2.

If you recently started at Lowe’s and went through onboarding via Workday, you may have separate Workday credentials. Don’t use those for MyLowesLife. The two systems use different login information, which is a common point of confusion for new hires. MyLowesLife requires the Sales Number you were assigned at your store, not the Workday credentials from your onboarding paperwork.

Quick note on electronic consent: Lowe’s may require you to opt in to electronic W2 delivery. Check your preferences under Payroll Services. If you haven’t opted in, your W2 was mailed to your home address and may not appear online.

Current employees should also double-check that their home address is correct in MyLowesLife. Even if you’re pulling your W2 electronically, Lowe’s also mails a paper copy unless you’ve explicitly gone paperless. An incorrect address means that paper W2 with your Social Security number on it lands at someone else’s door.

W2 access checklist for former Lowe’s employees

Lowe’s partners with Equifax for former employee tax documents. The process is straightforward, and it’s one of the better-designed systems among the retailers we cover.

  1. Go to mytaxform.com.
  2. Enter employer code 11116.
  3. Create an account or log in if you’ve used it before.
  4. Verify your identity using your Social Security number, date of birth, and other personal details.
  5. Once verified, select the tax year and download your W2.

That employer code, 11116, is the single most important number for any former Lowe’s employee at tax time. Write it down, save it in your phone, whatever. You’ll need it every year you want to pull a prior W2.

The nice thing about the Equifax/mytaxform.com system is that it stores multiple years of W2s. If you worked at Lowe’s three years ago and never downloaded that W2, it should still be there.

W2 timeline at Lowe’s

Date

What happens

Early to mid-January

Electronic W2s start appearing in MyLowesLife and mytaxform.com

January 31

Legal deadline for Lowe’s to mail paper W2s and make electronic versions available

First two weeks of February

Paper W2s typically arrive by mail

Mid-February

If you haven’t received anything, it’s time to take action

April 15

Federal tax filing deadline (unless extended)

Lowe’s typically beats the January 31 deadline by a week or two for electronic copies. Paper copies depend on USPS, so give them until mid-February before you assume something went wrong.

Common issues and how to fix them

MyLowesLife won’t load or says my credentials are wrong. This is the top complaint. The URL myloweslife.com sometimes gets confused with lowes.com, which is the customer-facing website. Make sure you’re going to the right place. If your password isn’t working, look for a password reset option on the login page, or contact your store’s HR representative. There’s no publicly listed password reset URL that works consistently for all employees.

I just started and my Sales Number doesn’t work. New Lowe’s employees often go through Workday for onboarding but don’t get full MyLowesLife access for the first few weeks. If you started late in the year and your W2 isn’t showing up, check with your store manager or HR contact at corporate.lowes.com/my-hr.

My paper W2 went to the wrong address. If you moved since your last day at Lowe’s, the paper copy probably went to your old place. Go directly to mytaxform.com with code 11116 and pull it electronically. This bypasses the address issue entirely.

I need a W2 from several years ago. Both MyLowesLife and mytaxform.com should have prior-year W2s. If the online records don’t go back far enough, file IRS Form 4506-T for a Wage and Income Transcript. The IRS keeps this data for up to 10 years.

I got two W2s from Lowe’s. If you transferred between stores in different states during the tax year, or if Lowe’s restructured your position mid-year, you could legitimately receive two W2 forms. Both are valid. Enter them separately when you file. The combined totals across both forms should match your annual earnings.

Reading your Lowe’s W2

The layout is standard IRS format, same as every other employer. A couple of Lowe’s-specific things to watch for:

Box 1 (wages) should roughly match your final pay stub’s year-to-date total, adjusted for pre-tax deductions. Lowe’s runs its 401(k) through Wells Fargo, so any contributions you made will reduce your Box 1 figure and show up in Box 12 under code D.

If you participated in the Lowe’s employee stock purchase plan or used BenefitHub for things like insurance through payroll deductions, those pre-tax amounts will also affect the gap between your gross pay and your Box 1 number.

Employees who worked in multiple states during the year should check Boxes 15 through 17 for state-specific wage and withholding breakdowns. Each state where you earned income should have its own line.

For the full breakdown of every W2 box, the how to read your W2 form box by box guide walks through it.

Lowe’s W2 vs. Home Depot W2: a quick note

Since people often compare these two companies: the W2 process at Lowe’s is actually simpler than at Home Depot. Home Depot uses the MyTHDHR portal with a separate Former Associates verification flow, while Lowe’s gives former employees the clean Equifax/mytaxform.com path with a simple employer code. If you’ve worked at both, you already know which process causes fewer headaches.

What if your Lowe’s W2 has an error?

Mistakes happen. If your name is misspelled, your SSN is wrong, or the wage amount doesn’t match what you actually earned, you need a corrected W2 (called a W-2c). Contact Lowe’s HR through corporate.lowes.com/my-hr or ask your store manager to escalate the request. Lowe’s is required to issue a corrected form, but the turnaround can take several weeks, so flag errors as early in tax season as you can.

If the error is minor and you need to file before the correction arrives, you can file with the incorrect W2 and then amend your return later using Form 1040-X once the W-2c shows up. It’s more paperwork, but it keeps you from missing the deadline.

If you’re having portal issues beyond W2 access, the Lowe’s login portals guide covers MyLowesLife, Workday, and LowesNet in detail. For questions about your Lowe’s employee discount or how it interacts with BenefitHub savings, that guide has the full breakdown.
